President's Message
Today, a simple email can issue an adequate amount of sensitive information out to the electronic medium. It is apparent that the more advanced the use of information technology resources by a company, the more this information will be digitized, processes automated, and, as a result, the more interactions, confidential information and exchanges will be circulating within the outside of institutions. Nearly everything a company has that is most vital such as payrolls, supplier order histories, customer data, credit card numbers, product formulae and composition of price lists is stored in electronic form. We could therefore, assess the significance of investment in security if one measures the dangers of compromising the availability of this information to the public. There are innumerable risks of situations where information can compromise all the information within the internal system, and the passwords from all types of users. Thus, technology security is vital to protecting the institutes from invasions and it is my belief that many institutes will conserve much more capital in investing technology security.
